Ballistic Blanket Sizing All blankets are 60″ tall, providing full height coverage, especially for the most vulnerable parts of the body, such as the chest and head. Depending on the width selected the ballistic blanket provides 7 – 20 square feet of instant blast, bomb and bullet protection. Bullet Resistant Blanket Weight Most conveniently, the para-aramid nature of Kevlar allows for majorly reduced weight (compared to steel, fiberglass, and many other options) and extreme flexibility-to strength ratio. This flexibility allows the first three sizes to fold up into a standard briefcase shape. This provides convenience and discretion. Handles on your Bomb Blanket Also important, the blanket is stitched with multiple handles in different locations and sizes. The primary handles are held in the hand to hold the blanket covering one’s head. The bottom contains a foot hold handle, for keeping the blanket securely locked in place with one’s own body weight. The largest bomb blanket (49″ x 60″) also provides multiple handles for human holding or wall-hook placement. It is also designed for placing over improvised explosive devices with a special reinforced padded center piece (removeable) for extra containment. The blanket likewise rolls up for easy transport. All blanket sizes are kept securely closed during transport with a triple clip system.
