I purchased one of these to replace a RYXN version of the same type of device, which had intermittent connectivity issues. This AMANKA one seems to have better connectivity, as well as an in-built amplification circuit that can make the output louder than the RYXN version, however it also seems to use a relatively cheap amplifier that introduces distortion into the midrange of the signal. So I’d say it sounds about 10% worse than the one I already had. The distortion gets worse the louder you push the volume through the device, unfortunately. So it is not very usable for me, and I will continue using the RYXN version, despite it’s connection issues.I’m not planning on returning the device since the RYXN has connection issues and if it finally dies on me then I can use this as an interim and order another RYXN.Pros for the AMANKA:-Does the job, you get analog audio extraction, works with ARC and eARC signals, allowing you to wire up your smart TV’s audio output to an analog system-Also supports volume control-No noted connection/configuration issues (Does not support Passthrough, but this is explained in the listing and the instructions, set your tv to PCM)Cons:-Introduces distortion in the midrange, which leads to muddy sound at higher volumes (especially for music)-Seems to sound somewhat better on ARC than eARC, which seems completely backwards-The wiring setup is a bit awkward, with power going in on the side with all of the outputs, and headphone (stereo mini) output on the input side with the HDMI port
