I had a day to prepare for a presentation live stream with a camera I knew wouldn’t work with my BMD switcher in 1080P30. This came overnight and I configured it on the job. It worked immediately after the first attempt at setting the dip switches. It’s a little confusing when you look at it at first, but once you figure it out, it’s plain as day simple. Set the dipswitches upside down, from right to left while looking at the chart. Now I had also ordered a decimator md-hx but it did not arrive in time. I am happy it turned out this way. This little BMD is half the cost and does the trick. Sure, it doesn’t have an LCD display, it doesn’t have an app to configure it, and some advanced scaling options that the decimater has, but it works for most applications and the setup is indeed fast. It auto detects your input from any format down to 640×480 and up to 1080p60 and outputs to any format from 720 and up to 1080p60. Very useful when incompatible video devices get connected to a switcher.
